Wish list for Smartsheet

Hi,

I am new to Smartsheet, and I have been using it this last month to manage one of my projects.

One of the area I wish there was some improvements and changes, would be the Update Request area:

1. Be able as Admin to change manually the status of the request, reason being, that I send request to my team over in India, but for some reason they answer my mail without going to the fuss of using the form ! So I do the changes on my side, but the request remains unanswered, I wish I could change myself the status to Completed and have a better track of what is done and what is pending.

2. On the same area, I wish I could send a friendly reminder regarding an update that is pending.

3. Maybe it already exist, have a report with pending request updates accross the spreadsheet and comments (I will dig into this).

You can delete an Update Request with the steps in our Help Center: https://help.smartsheet.com/articles/504779-using-update-requests

However, deleting an Update Request will make it disappear from the Update Request window. We don't have a way to manually mark an Update Request as "Completed" but I'll add your vote for this to our enhancement request list for further consideration.

You might consider creating a reminder based off of the due date in your sheet when sending Update Requests to users that are currently shared on the sheet: https://help.smartsheet.com/articles/542913-using-reminders

Otherwise, you can send a row via email (although this is a manual process): https://help.smartsheet.com/articles/504773-sending-sheets-rows-via-email

On #3, we don't have a way to generate a report of Update Requests, or the rows thereon, but I've got your vote down for this type of functionality on our enhancement request list as well.

I was doing an internal training class on SS and the question was asked about sending an update if an update request is still pending. Currently, you either have to do a Reminder Alert or send another update request. This feature would be useful.

An update on this topic, with a further suggestion:

On the left side of the Smartsheet, there are icons, and among them one for the Row action indicators, there, there is an improvment that could be made:

- Differentiate the icon based on status of the update request, for example:

* An enveloppe with a yellow question mark would mean a pending request.

* An enveloppe with a red exclamation mark would mean an overdue request.

* An enveloppe with a green flag mark would mean a done request.

This would allow to quickly visualize the status of the update request without having to check the list with the status.

It would be great to be able to generate a report for "Update Requests." Skimming each project worksheet isn't the end of the world but it's not as efficient as it could be.

When you have rows collapsed, the Update Request icon is not visible when the row it is applied to is collapsed/rolled up. This requires adjusting the collapsed sub-tasks and then re-applying them once I've found the Update Request that I'm looking for. Nothing CTRL+Z can't assist with but still, a simple report would be awesome.
