Report created via automation in Zapier
Hi Guys,
I'm using Zapier as an automation tool to create reports in SS. Now, the account I'm using in Zapier to connect to SS is mine, and I have admin permission.
On a high level, the automation is creating a report under the relevant Workspace, and the user associates with this report has to move it to a subfolder within the same Workspace.
My problem is that once the report created, the user cannot drag the report, only admin users can do it.
How can I solve it? I thought maybe to connect in Zapier to SS via "User" account and not "Admin". Do you think it may help to solve it?

For example. If you add the sheet to a Workspace they need to have Admin permissions to be able to move it.
Where do you place the sheet from Zapier? Where will the users need to move it?

Zapier can integrate with SS, and through it, you can use the various functionalities SS offers, for instance:
- Create a new sheet from the existing one.
- Update a raw in sheet, etc.
What do you need to provide Zapier in order to integrate with SS:
- The action you wish to make on SS (the section above)
- The account you connect with to SS with.
In my automation, I chose to create a "New sheet from existing sheet", the account I used to connect to Zapier is mine (Admin). Now, as I mentioned, once the new sheet created, the other users cannot move it to the relevant folder.
What do I need to do that the users will be able to move it across the different folders?

Yes, I know and use Zapier in my client solutions all the time, but as far as I know it's not possible to create a report.
Or have i missed something and it is possible? (crossing my fingers) 😉
They must have the correct permission to the sheet/object. What permissions do they have?

Sorry for misleading you, you are correct, I don't create a report I'm creating a sheet.
Most users have a "user" permission.
So I thought that if I will connect to Zapier with a "user" account and not "admin", then all users will be able to move the new sheet created via the automation. Is my assumption correct? Or it doesn't matter with which account the report is being created, but rather the level of permission the user has.

No worries! I was hoping you've found something that I didn't know.
The account you use in Zapier doesn't affect the permission. It's the permission the user has in Smartsheet that is important.

Based on your information, that means all the users have to be with "Admin" permission.

Do I need to make changes in the sheet template so other users will be able to shift it from place A to place B?
What decides whether a regular user can move a sheet from from location A to location B?
