Automatically update related tasks when one date changes
Hi!
My team is using Smartsheet for project management, and I want to know how to update due dates for tasks that are related. For example, if my original due date is 1/1/17, and there are several other tasks that are related to the starting date (edit, layout, print, etc.), if I change the date of one of those tasks, how can it automatically update the others to reflect this change? Let's say I need to change the layout date from 1/1/17 to 1/5/17, but the print date is set to 1/5/17. Obviously my print date would need to be adjusted to reflect the delay in layout. Is that possible?
Thank you!
Sarah

Sarah,
You'll likely want to take a look at predecessors:

Hope that helps.

Hi Craig,
Thank you for the help! I think predecessors should work perfect for us once we get the hang of it!

If you aren't familar with them from another PM tool, the version in Smartsheet should be able to handle your use-cases. Just post any questions on the Community. Some very experienced people that can help. I can too.
