Sending attachments via e-mail

Is there a way to automate sending attachment (attachment in row) to specific e-mail, when a new row is added?

Maybe through Smartsheet workflow, or Microsoft automate?

Yes, you can use a Workflow for it.

Will the attachment be added with the new row, or is it already in the sheet in another row?

Can you describe your process in more detail and maybe share the sheet(s)/copies of the sheet(s) or some screenshots? (Delete/replace any confidential/sensitive information before sharing) That would make it easier to help. (share too, andree@workbold.com)

Hi Andree,

Attachment will be added to the row when a new row is created. Through the Form.

And when a new row is created, Workflow should found out that there is new row, and check if it has an attachment. If there is an attachment, it would send it to the specified e-mail address.

You can set the Trigger in an Alert Workflow to When rows are added and the When part to An attachment is Added.

Yes that would be ok for a trigger.

But then if I want to send an e-mail using action "Alert somebody". I cant find a way to only attach an Attachment. It can only send a link to sheet and specific field.

I need this for sending attachments to Xero files inbox, which has its own e-mail.

Unfortunately, it's not possible now to include the file instead of the link, but it's an excellent idea!

Please submit an Enhancement Request when you have a moment.

I'll get back to the post if I can think of a way to solve it.

Is there a way to get the URL of the attachment to use in the Automated workflow? For example, if you click on the attachment in a row you can use the "Send file" menu option to email the attachment link (via URL). How do I access this URL reference in the Automation workflow for an attachment on a row? Column {{column_name}} references do not work for attachment files.
