QR Code and Forms
Can anyone point me in the right direction to learn more? I am wanting to have a person scan a QR code that would then open up a form to complete an application. Do we are already have a template for this? Is there guidance or training somewhere to point me in the right direction for how to do this or where I can learn more? Has SmartSheet integrated with a QR code generator yet?
In my scenario, I envision a person seeing a "for rent" sign and scanning the QR code presented. The code will take them to the form where they will complete the rental application and be screened for "meets minimum requirements" (or not). Based on their responses the form will tell them if they are qualified to apply or not.

Hi @StephanieStepney - you can absolutely achieve this within Smartsheet. Try this QR code for starters. You need to generate the QR codes outside of Smartsheet and then provide the form URL to redirect the QR code. Once the enquiry is submitted, you can trigger automatic workflows based on your minimum criteria, ie email response ‘with regret’ or alert enquiry team to contact the lead.
I’m just preparing a video on barcodes and QR codes inSmartsheet for my YouTube channel so it should be available in the next week.

I hope you're well and safe!
To add to Rich's excellent advice/answer.
Here are some QR code resources.
I've also used Google Sheets to create QR Codes.
- I developed a client solution recently with a structure in Smartsheet for each manufacturing step and then pasted those codes into a Google Sheet to create the QR Codes for print. (formatted for labeling or to put in a binder)
I hope that helps!
Be safe, and have a fantastic weekend!

Thanks @Andrée Starå - that's a good site I've also used for customising QR codes!
@StephanieStepney - you can also bulk create them in Google sheets using the below formula in the column where the QR code will be generated, with column A being the URL or whatever code you want when scanned:
=if(isblank(A1), "", image("https://image-charts.com/chart?chs=150x150&cht=qr&choe=UTF-8&chl="&ENCODEURL(A1)))
It doesn't let you download the QR codes as images like the QR Code Generator, but you can create an image of them fairly easily. And clearly there will be lots of info out there on the QR code generation and commercial solutions.

@Andrée Starå and @Rich Coles thank you both! I was hoping someone already had a template I could copy and update but appreciate the instruction you both have provided.

@StephanieStepney Perhaps our feature can help you: it is generating a QR code within a Smartsheet cell based on a simple formula: = QR(<column>@row), so without leaving Smartsheet at all: https://smart4b.nl/inline-qr-generator/
Just ask for the Trial, we will be happy to share a sheet with examples, so you can test it out yourself.

@StephanieStepney Forgot to mention It is also on the Smartsheet Marketplace: https://www.smartsheet.com/marketplace/apps/inline-qr-generator

Hello @StephanieStepney,
Hey, I found this awesome QR code generator [https://www.smartmobsolution.com/qr-code-generator/]
Absolutely, that works! You can go ahead and suggest a specific QR code generator like QR Code Generator or any other you find user-friendly.
Just let them know it's a solid choice, and they can easily create their QR codes there. Sharing personal experiences and recommendations always adds a nice touch.
