How is this not already a feature? Soooooo many basic features missing in this tool, and the complete lack of visibility into the roadmap and prioritization does not help at all. Very unfriendly experience for users.
Add this incredibly basic functionality.
I love this and my work could really use this functionality. Additionally, it would be nice to merge cells in frozen rows. We have some project trackers where I have some basic descriptions and instructions in the first 1/2 rows. It would look a lot nicer if I could merge some cells on frozen rows so that it wouldn't impact the column/row spacing on the actual product tracker itself.
Hello! I have a sheet that requires sub-headers, the column headers are already at a reasonable length, so it's not ideal to add more info into them. Ideally, when people scroll down, they would have the column header and the subcolumn header follow, but it's not possible to do that without being able to freeze the first row.
Here is an example.
Being able to scroll and keep the subheader would be a feature that would be worthwhile.
Excellent news that this is on the roadmap.
This would be a BIG WIN for functionality for my teams using Smartsheet. I would love to know if/when this feature will be available.
This would be highly valuable for lengthy sheets with a large number of columns. I support this recommendation.
Love this idea.
Upvote on this feature!
@Danielle Wilson Is there an update on this feature request? With such a large up vote I am surprised its just on the road map.
Hi @Ken Armstrong unfortunately not anything I've heard anything on or a part of the product that I'm involved with!
@Danielle Wilson Thanks for the update!
I'm looking forward to it!
It would be great if freezing a row could also exempt it from taking on a column formula. I have sheets where the first row is used as a title reference for other formulas but the rest of the rows in that column have a formula themselves. Ideally I would not have to remember to copy those all down when a row is automatically imported (as is the workflow in this sheet).
You can ensure this functionality by using a separate input worksheet with automation than moves rows once completed. Label first row that contains sample entry (or a description to your liking, as admin can overrule drop-downs). Then lock a column that contains label. Then make sure the automation does not move the row with sample label.
+1 - this functionality is sorely needed.
In the Resource Management Plan Settings in Control Center, there is no way to link the Client and Project Code fields even though they are not Custom fields and part of the first 3 fields you enter when creating a new project. I can't select them in the Custom Resource Management Information Fields because they are not…
I’d like to see user analytics for WorkApps. I’ve checked the user report available in the Collaborator Pack, but it only shows how many times someone has clicked into the WorkApp each month. I’d like to know: Which resources (dashboards, sheets, forms, etc.) are getting the most traffic? Where are people spending their…
I rely heavily on Smartsheet’s Document Generation. However, this workflow is currently dependent on having photos stored inside cells, since row attachments alone cannot be used directly in document generation.. If Smartsheet allowed attachments to be displayed as thumbnails in cells (as a reference), document generation…
