Add Viewer Mode Settings to Reports
The Report widget on Dashboards has a Viewer Mode, which dictates what data viewers of the Dashboard can see - only data from sheets they have permission to view, or data from sheets that the last widget editor has permission to view.
Adding the Viewer Mode with the same options to Reports would be incredibly helpful. As an example, here is a current scenario for our team:
- Our Division has a project roadmap for projects in our domain.
- A subset of those projects either have an impact on, or require the support of, other Divisions.
- In order for leaders from other divisions to prioritize and plan resources for their own roadmaps, they need visibility to our roadmap.
- These leaders don't need to, or shouldn't, see our whole project list. They just need to see those that we've identified as involving them.
- Therefore, I need to create a report with this criteria, to show them only what they need to see. But without giving them View access to the entire source data list, they cannot see any data on the report.
It seems a bit ridiculous that I could create a dashboard, add a report widget to it, and set that Viewer Mode as "Last widget editor," and they would be able to see the data. (BTW - This does not work as a solution because viewing a large report and Gantt on a dashboard is incredibly user unfriendly.)
