Happy New Year SmartSheet Community!
My overarching goal of 2024 is to manage my spare time more efficiently. Reflecting back on 2023, there were so many goals I had created for myself, but did not achieve because I did not manage my spare time effectively.
This year, I am set in stone with planning the things I would like to do using the SMART method, whether it is creating one SmartSheet solution per month, saving a certain amount of money per paycheck, or even trying a new baking recipe every other weekend. Being able to measure and monitor the activities I would like to pursue will help provide a sense of small achievements and as well as the ability to scale my bandwidth.
But with setting time management goals comes sacrificing less productive leisure activities such as spending time on social media or giving up specific shopping habits. Overall, the key is to remain consistent and resilient while tracking the progression!
Happy 2024! :)

Overachiever's Motivation Mix
The Smartsheet Overachievers are here to give you the songs that will keep you going and keep you achieving! Here’s what’s on the playlist right now.
“On ‘Pearls,’ not only does Jessie Ware's voice soar, but the crisp disco drums, tight bassline and ascending instrumentation all fly together to make my head waggle and my tail wave. No matter where I'm at or how many folks are around me, I bust loose every time the chorus hits!”
- @Kyle Chipman, Chief Process Officer at Chipman Design Architecture
Bonus note: Kyle also uses Smartsheet to index his physical media collection, including vinyl, DVDs, and games. 🙌

More about me
You made it to the end of the newsletter! Before you go, I’d love to share with you one of my favorite achievements of 2023.
I live in San Diego, California, where we’re spoiled with amazing hikes and nature. For so long, I had wanted to try the Three Sisters Falls hike, but avoided it because it had the reputation of being extremely challenging. It’s only just over 4 miles, but declines on the way to gorgeous waterfalls. This means the way back is one brutally steep incline with no shade and scalding temperatures most months. Just in 2023 alone, there were 24 helicopter or medical rescues!
Happy to report that I finally decided to go for it in November. We got lost on the way there, adding hours to our travel time. I ran out of both water bottles I brought, and I got so dizzy during the last 30 minutes that I thought I’d have to give up. Took a lot of grit - but I did it! And I can’t wait to NEVER do it again. 🤣
The next time you feel like you’re stuck, whether it’s on a trail or while building a formula, remember that you’re not alone. On my hike, my friend Lynnea was an awesome supporter, and I hope that’s what you find here. Cheers to figuring it out together in Community!

My 2024 goal is to continue to learn Smartsheet and my motto is, "Don't find the fault, find the fix?" Wishing you each a very Happy New Year and here's to an amazing 2024!🙌

My 2024 goal is to be present in the moment. In the past, I've focused on the larger picture and learned to think globally - and while that's not necessarily a bad thing - I'm working on making sure that I don't sacrifice the here and now. Learning from the small up's and down's and ensuring I'm recognizing my team both in the large moments, and in the small day-to-day/weekly moments will ensure strong team cohesion and that I personally stay grounded.
Here's wishing everyone a happy, healthy, and prosperous 2024 to all of you in the Smartsheet Community!
Ability to save as new more than 100 files so the interactions remain
Currently there is a limitation to save as new and/or copy only 100 files at a time. This means if you have a workspace with more then 100 files that need to interact with each other for the dashboards to remain intact, you can't do it. You would need to copy it in pieces and repick reports, data for widgets, etc.
column description on sheet does not show on report
Hi,
I have two sheets with column descriptions. I have shared these sheets via a report for users to make their updates. From the Report they do not see the column descriptions.
Is there a way they can see the column descriptions?
Thanks,
Peggy
Row Action Indicators - Pending Update Requests report or filter
Request function to report or filter on pending update requests.
If you send 100 requests out, there is currently no way (that I have found) to track and manage without selecting each row individually, or old school scrolling around and manually counting/tracking.
Thank you!
Reference sheet name in formula.
It would be nice to be able to put something such as @sheetname or {{Sheet Name}} or something to call specifically to the sheet name for a formula. This would make it easy for sheets to be duplicated across vendors/products without having to change anything but the name of the sheet itself.
Re: Nominate Peak Humans & get a badge!
How do I choose? I nominate @Andrée Starå, @Paul Newcome and @Genevieve P. all of which who have constantly been there to help with my MANY questions. And as I was learning the ropes of Smartsheet also all took the time to explain everything in basic terms (with screenshots), so I had an immediate understanding. I could then immediately apply this knowledge to my projects. And there were time (MANY!), where I did not quite have the final answer correct, and they helped again so quickly, and were kind enough to explain the WHY of my issue, helping me learn from my mistakes.
