Have there been any updates on this capacity update? When will the update happen, what will be the new Max limits for the below limit increases that were provided in 2023 as an aiming target?
Stated above: "What we're aiming for as of now is the following sizes on a sheet:
- 5 million cells on a sheet (up from 500k)
- Up to 1 million rows on a sheet (up from 20k)
- Up to 1,000 columns on a sheet (up from 400)"
Any guidance and updates would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Jumping on to bump this further. We NEED Clarity on the rollout of the increased cell limits. As well I have seen different numbers thrown around such as in the EAP of only getting "1,000,000 cells with up to 50,000 rows". This is not what was promised and will not be adequate for an enterprise-level software.

Please give us an ETA on the sheet capacity increase announced in 2023. My team has reached 5 years of using Smartsheet across a constellation of project management programs and the scale our historical data alone is rendering solutions inoperable due to the platform's limitations. As our team's Smartsheet SME, I've repeatedly had to steer leadership away from considering Smartsheet products when developing critical parts of our PMO infrastructure because it would be ill-advised if not untenable to continue expanding our use of a platform that is not capable of expanding with us. Thank you.

Friendly reminder that it's been well over a year since the enterprise capability of 5 million cells/sheet was announced, nearly 7 months since the last status update was posted here, and we just passed 3 months of early-access Table view sans-cell capacity increase. Please let us know what is going on.

Thank you for your continued engagement and patience as we navigate this significant architectural transformation of our sheet platform. We've updated the status here to reflect current state, and we wanted to share more about what to expect next.
In 2024 we delivered 500k cell link scale and performance, expanded portfolio scale, new views to manage your work in new ways, and an EAP version of a new Table view that supports up to 1 million cells*, 50,000 rows, 250 million formula references, and faster sheet load and instant save times.
Since EAP launch, thousands of users have tried out the new Table view. Their feedback has been critical in identifying the improvements and capabilities needed to make it a valuable experience. We are eager to launch an initial version of Table view to all our customers in the near future, followed by ongoing enhancements and innovations to better manage your work.
Beyond Table view, the journey will continue throughout the year as we enable large-scale support for all Smartsheet capabilities on the new sheet platform, enabling you to collect, organize, automate, and report on data at up to 5 million cell level scale.
You can sign up for EAP to experience these improvements now and share your feedback, and definitely stay tuned here for more regular updates!

Hey @Olen Ronning are there any updates since last month ? This group is eager to take advantage of additional scale in Smartsheet and a lot of our projects are limited by the size limits in Smartsheet. I hope this is quickly being worked on as we have been promised more scale for roughly 2 years now.

I don't understand why increased capacity is available only in the "table" view. It should be available also in the grid view. Table view looks more modern but it's impossible to do anything there in terms of the file performance. Simply it's to slow.

The Table View is built on a new framework, and I expect it to be updated until it's on par with and better than the Grid View.

The table view is not a solution. That is really just a loading viewing tool - you can not update predecessors so it isnt useful.

Hi Andree, thanks for this note. Do you have any insight into whether other capabilities will be built out for table view as well? (Reports, etc.)
I wish the roadmap was more transparent for us as users, so it would be easier for us to "trust the process" of all this development.

Yes, and I can say that the plan is to have the Table view match/exceed the functionality of the Grid View in general, but I can't say more than that at the moment.

I will be honest that I have pretty much given up on Smartsheet. Great platform but without scale it is pretty much useless. You have promised us increased scale for over 3 years now and we are absolutely no closer to having it. As other users mentioned the roadmap is not transparent on timing and we keep just getting told “it is coming” but nothing ever comes. How can a multi million dollar company use your platform with the current limits in place ? This is honestly becoming a bit of a joke and I have encourage our organization and others to move away from Smartsheet as the scale just isn’t there and doesn’t appear to be coming.
