Sending Update Request to A Multi Contact Field

Hello,

I have a update request automation that should go out to a contact filed, that is set for Multi contacts. The emails are not going out. IS this a limitation to smartsheet that does not allow these to go out when you are using multiple contacts. can I only use a single contact field for this? Or should this be working. Does anyone know, I can't find anything in the documentation on the limitation, but it's not working. Thanks,
