    After attending ENGAGE in 2018, I was directed to Community as a resource by the person (I forgot their name 🤦‍♀️) that was helping me during my 30-minute help desk session. It has been my go-to ever since.

  • My experience was that it was a tool that was used in the company, but with a change in role that I had internally, it was the perfect excuse to get creative and use it:

    • Requirements and project management
    • Event management
    • Reporting
    • Artificial intelligence in language translation
    • Integration with Microsoft
    • Notifications
    • Automations
      Among others...and we are looking for more :)

    I remember this well. I had just started at my previous role, Medtronic. I knew NOTHING about Smartsheet, I could barely spell it! LOL Then my boss gets me an Admin license (she had the only one previously). She needed soneone to do all the formulas, cell linking, workflows, forms and more, then don't get me started on our custom projects (rather than the templates), whicvh included detailed metrics calculation sheets and more. It was obviously I was going to need help. I tried to do things on my own, but I needed help, so on to the Community. OMG, people are so friendly, helpful, and lightening fast with answers!

    I was pushed to learn Smartsheet, and I never stopped coming back to the forum for help with my questions. I have made such good friends. Such helpful and quick answers. The Smartsheet Community helped me to learn so much. Smartsheet Community is better than ANY Excel forum I have been to!

    I started my role in SBP as a Smartsheet Trainer. I had a lot of training experience with Microsoft Office apps, but needed to learn Smartsheet quickly and deeply. The best way to be confident you know an app is to offer support on it, so I started to answer peoples questions to a) help them, as is my nature, but b) to build confidence and learn the areas of the app that trip people up, thus including these in my workshops to ensure that my delegates learn deeply.

    I just love answering the questions in this community forum, but I fear I loose a few hrs each time I delve in, once I start I can't really pull myself away!

    I discovered Community as soon as I started working with Smartsheets. I went through the left nav pane and clicked on the ? icon. Community was staring me right in the face!

    Like many others, my intro to the community was in my initial Smartsheet learning…as soon as I wanted to get more specific than what was available in Smartsheet U. via topical courses - my searching for answers always linked to two strong resources: the Smartsheet Community boards and YouTube. These are both invaluable resources and I always point newer Smartsheet fans to these as primary learning spots! Love this Community! The tools, structure, and most importantly the people!

    My technical account manager @Ian Barker introduced me to the Smartsheet Community shortly after I joined my current company. He directed me here to post and vote on product enhancement ideas. I took awhile to really start to engage in the community, but now I visit the space frequently and get a ton of value out it. I appreciate being given a voice to help shape the future of Smartsheet developement and really love that Smartsheet will post updates on suggestions showing users that their feedback is acutally being used. I feel like the community is a great spot for troubleshooting issues. I try to pay it forward and help other users by answering their questions when I can and honestly I love doing it when I have some extra time. It's always nice to stop thinking about how my organization is applying Smartsheet for a little while and try to troubleshoot a new problem for a totally different application.

    Thank you to Smartsheet for providing this excellent platform and thank you to the other Smartsheet Community members for participating and enabling the community space to really shine.

  • I discovered the SMARTSHEET Community recently when trying to troubleshoot some issues I was having with Document Generation. Amazingly enough, I have been working in SMARTSHEET first as an admin and as a user for several years but never went to SMARTSHEET Community. What??? I have no idea how I missed it! The wealth of information at the tip of your fingertips! Now I'm in there several times a week and is my usual go to place for SMARTSHEET info.

    I originally found the community when I was using google for questions and saw the answers that I needed were almost always in the Smartsheet community!

    A former Manager had used Smartsheet previously, we'd been using Wrike as our project management system but it was clunky and difficult to work with or get meaningful reports out of - he suggested Smartsheet and sent me a login, maybe 48 hours later I had our entire project management system re-built and a couple of weeks later we had our project managers porting their projects over.

    It's still a work in progress, living systems never stop being developed and improved, but it's made a big difference to our project management and overall departmental reporting.

    I was introduced to Smartsheet by a colleague, but it initially didn't grab our attention. However, the turning point came when our sponsor urged us to find a solution for displaying real-time updates on our state project's status. We required a tool that could seamlessly integrate across two state agencies and be user-friendly for all team members, regardless of their tech proficiency.

    That's when Smartsheet re-entered the picture. I dove into its features and swiftly imported our contract details, financial data, and project schedule. What truly revolutionized our workflow was its capability to streamline the tracking of submissions and approvals for deliverables. Prior to Smartsheet, we were drowning in a sea of emails spanning many years, hunting down crucial information.

    I now use Smartsheet all day, building solutions across several departments.

  • I came on board to a new PM role with a hospital and a PM Director in place. We needed a tool that would work in a simple manner, attainable to newbies, and had enough hybrid and waterfall capabilities to begin to inculcate the organization with the beginnings of Project Methodology. We look at multiple vendors and Smartsheet was the hands down winner for that criteria! Great product and Service!

  • I discovered Smartsheet while preparing for a Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certificate (CMMC) - back when the journey toward CMMC compliance began (before the delays in that program roll-out). The audit prep company we had hired used Smartsheet as its tracking method to ensure all requirements were met. I loved how I could upload documents directly to each requirement's row, and add comments providing details for that requirement. I also greatly appreciated the ability to quickly see our progress. We ended up using Smartsheet for our Plan of Action and Milestones (POAM), and then continued using it for our ISO 27001 audits and yearly surveillance.

    From those beginnings, we built out an entire PMO solution completely tailored and customized to our project needs - including portfolio dashboards and resource utilization. What used to take hours and hours to create, transitioned to reports generated by the click of a button.

    Today, I work for a company that is a Smartsheet Premier partner - and I'm excited to see what Smartsheet brings to the table for our clients and their evolving needs and requirements! It transformed the way we do business, and I'm certain that it will do the same for our customers!

    Our reps - Matt and Matt directed us to Community and the rest just fell in place. It is nice that I don't need to remember how to get there… just type Smartsheet help and the option to go to Community is available. Slick, easy and done!
