Configure Google Suite App Access Control From Smartsheets
Hi,
I'm trying to automate the population of access control lists in Google Suite apps (Docs, Sheets, etc.) based on a list of names/emails maintained in Smartsheets. Has anyone done something like this before?
Thanks!
Gary

Hi @g2smsht!
I haven’t personally worked on configuring Google Suite App Access Control from Smartsheet, but I found this help article on Smartsheet's integration with Google.
It outlines the different ways Smartsheet interacts with Google products, how to set up integrations, and where to find additional resources.
I hope this gives you a good starting point!

I have done lots of automated sharing, the pattern i recommend is,
SMAR Group of always added
SMAR sheet with user roles / ACLs
SMAR sheet with blacklist
When you implement the shares you want to
1. Combine the user roles sheet records with the always add records
2. dedupe the list in JS
3. remove any blacklist people
4. Get current shares of asset from google api
5. dedupe records so you only have missing people
6. add missing people to object share
7. you can also decide at this point to remove or ignore people with shares who are NOT on your listPrincipal Consultant | System Integrations
