File Upload from Customer into their Designated Row
I was hoping somebody could help.
I have a form set up where customers can upload their artwork directly to our sheet and once checked I send an approval request as a proof.
However if the proof is declined or we check the file and it isn't print ready we require customers to upload a new file (artwork). I have tried this with an update request but upon testing realise that the customer cannot upload a new file using an update request. So my question is:
If I require a customer to upload a new file to their designated row in my sheet, how do I do this without asking them to email it to me and then uploading it manually? Bearing in mind 90% of our customers will not be using smartsheet.

I just tested this and was able to upload another file. Make sure your delivery settings are set up properly, and if it still doesn't work then it may be something you need to contact Smartsheet support for. See testing images below.

Hey Paul,
Thanks for getting back to me. I really appreciate it.I have managed the update request and even have the "upload files" button available. However when I click it and upload a new file it shows, spins and then gives me an error message.
Very frustrating as it is literally the last stage i need to implement until i have a fully automated artwork and proofing system up and running. Something we could really do with to ease workflow.
Did you manage to upload a new file succesfully? If so did you do it from an account that isnt using Smartsheet?

I was able to upload a new file, but it was from my desktop. Smartsheet only supports certain file formats which are different depending on what they are uploading. A picture in a word doc would be loaded as a word doc, but a picture file as a picture file has to be of a certain type. I do know that .PNG is one of the options, but I can't remember off the top of my head what the other ones are. If the file type is not the issue then you may want to contact Smartsheet support directly as being able to fill out forms (in their entirety) is not something that is normally limited to only Smartsheet users.

Ok great, thanks Paul, PDFs are our file of choice and i know this is a supported file type. I will play around with it again today and see what happens.
Many thanks for your help.

Hi Paul,
I have figured out the problem, however I stumbled acroos another. Can you help? I have attached a screenshot which may help.
I have the Rule set as when a row is updated. It send the update request succesfully and I am able to upload the file. However because the row is updated again when the file hits the sheet it sends another update request to the customer.
I noticed on you screenshot that your rules state when a column "changes to". This option doesn't seem to be available when I try to set the rules. I want it to send the update when a cell changes to SEND ARTWORK LINK is from unchecked to checked.
Does that make sense? Maybe that will only send the update request once.

Have your tried clicking on "where all of the following are true"?
When I open up a new update request it is already set as "when column changes to".
