Auto populate data in Forms

I am trying to auto populate the data in Forms for example if we select ID the corresponding fields will get auto populated with required values.

As per the attachment if we enter any ID in the CUS ID field it should populate the PSS First Name, Last Name, email and Manager email.

I tried to do this by cross sheet Vlookup function in main spreadsheet but it didnt worked for me.

Can anyone suggest me how to fix this.

Hi,

Unfortunately, it's not possible at the moment with the Smart Forms, but it's a great idea!

Please submit an Enhancement Request when you have a moment.

There are third-party form services like Google Forms or similar that can do what you want.

A workaround could be to send an automatic update request after the form is submitted.

While you cannot auto populate the form like this, you could use the VLOOKUP function to pull the data after submission.

Hello, I am wondering the same thing, has this feature been added?

It would be very helpful if the default value field behaved in the same manner as a cell, where you could add formulas and cross sheet references.

Hi All,

I have a similar issue with my form. as what I wanted is,

1. I have data with a unique id given in the primary column and I have added a form link in another column.

I there any way that, whenever someone clicks on the link, it should auto-populate the unique ID into the form?

Can anyone please suggest and help on this.

Yes, you can use the URL query feature to do that.

When you click on the URL created with the help of the URL query, it will open the Form layout with fields already filled in.

When you create a form in Smartsheet, one way you can distribute that form is with a URL.

i am trying to do but it's not working as I have to give reference from another column where a unique id is defined. So the link will come at the link column. so how can I add/give reference to the first column.

It looks like your screenshot is showing an Excel sheet, but you are trying this in Smartsheet, correct?

What was done to make this work? I'm having the same issue. I've used the URL formula but I'm not getting it to populate on the form.
