More than 2 actions following an approval
Is it possible to have more than 2 actions after an approval in the same workflow?
We have a sheet that requires the tasks to be approved by a member of leadership. If it is approved I need the project lead to get an alert, the date to be recorded, and the status to be changed. I would prefer not to have multiple automations for the same workflow, but it will only let me add 2 of the above actions if it is approved in a single automation. Is there a way around this or am I stuck making 2 automations?

I hope you're well and safe!
Unfortunately, as far as I know, it's not possible now, but it's an excellent idea!

I hope that helps!

I wasn't sure whether to start a new question, but this seems to be related to this thread. I tried adding a second action and it says it will delete the existing action. Why can't I use a trigger and condition to change two different cells?

Certain actions, such as Record a Date, are "terminal" actions which means that you cannot add another condition or action afterwards; the workflow needs to end at that point. (See the bullet points at the bottom of this Help Article: Create a record a date workflow)
If you have two cells to change with the same trigger, I would suggest creating two separate workflows.
Cheers,
Genevieve

Hi @Genevieve P. , I was hoping to change a cell value before the "record a date" action, and it was adding this step that threatened to remove subsequent actions. It's still a valid question, but I'm not trying to do it anymore because the cell value I wanted to change was a symbol and I've been told that's not possible without creating a helper column.

Agree with Robin. I want to Record a Date, then Generate the Form. It is silly to have to do several Workflows. The Approval Workflow should be able to allow multiple actions in succession.
