Resubscribe to an automation email?
Hey all,
A critical member of our workflow has unsubscribed from his approval emails. After doing some digging on the forums I have found a couple solutions:
-Remove his email from the notification list in the workflow, then add him again
-Duplicate the workflow
Neither of these work. The workflow still says the user has unsubscribed.
Any idea how to fix this?
I created a test sheet and unsubscribed from the notification and I can't find a way to resubscribe myself.

Hi @Ryan Levitz
To re-subscribe to a workflow, create a Duplicate of the workflow (and delete the original). This should automatically re-subscribe everyone to the new workflow.
If this hasn't worked, please contact Support with the user's email address, workflow ID, and sheet URL.
Thanks!

Hi Ryan,
Please ask the user to check the notification setting. Its under his Personal Setting.
Thanks

Hi sudjirjan,
Unfortunately, that setting was still checked. Unchecking, saving, and rechecking the box didn't work either.

Deleting the original was the last piece of the puzzle. I had to duplicate the original, put in a dummy recipient, save it, delete the original, and then I was able to add the correct recipient in place of the dummy.
Thank you!

What if you have multiple users that have unsubscribed and you only want to resubscribe one user? Does Smartsheet have a more methodical way to manage this?

Hi @Ami Veltrie
In this instance I would suggest duplicating the workflow. Then once you have a copy you can remove everyone except for the one person you need to subscribe!
Cheers,
Genevieve

As much as I appreciate having to re-create a workflow, I also have one too many sheets to keep track of to re-creating workflows for every person who decides to unsubscribe. Is anyone aware if there have been any updates so that the user can re-subscribe to workflows? I am not finding anything in regards to this topic and maybe I have searched incorrectly.

It is the deleting of the old one that finally allowed me to add the user that unsubscribed. I duplicated the original and kept getting error and then saw one of the comments mentioned deleting the old workflow. I did this and then was able to add the user to the workflow that I duplicated.
Thanks @Genevieve P.
