Automated Alerts - Comments

In an approval workflow when someone is notified on the Approved/Declined status, we have built a "message only" alert back to the user who submitted the request.

The user will never be shared to the sheet and so the option to include a link to the sheet with selected columns included is not an option.

Is there a way to include a row comment to the message. (not a comments column).

Sheet columns are currently included in the message making use of the {{column name}} functionality.

There currently isn't a way to reference the Conversation window/comments on a row via a workflow with {{Placeholders}}.

Even if you used the option to include the Sheet Link and specific columns and selected the Conversation column as one to include, these comments would only be sent if they happen at the same time as the trigger. See the section that says "Comments and attachments in alerts" in this Help Article: Customize the content of your alerts and requests

Having a "Comments" column in your sheet may be the best way to send out additional details if you want to use the Message Only feature in an alert.
