Can you alert/send an email to contacts in a cell that have been entered via a form?

I have my alert settings to Unrestricted, but even so, it seems those who fill out our form cannot be notified since they are not users of SmartSheet. I am looking for a solution other than the "Send me a copy of my responses" option.

    I hope you're well and safe!

    You can add an automated Workflow combined with an Alert that automatically sends when a new form submission is received.

    You'd add a so-called helper column (Contact type) that they would find in their email and then reference it in the Workflow.

    Make sense?

    Thank you for your help! I have a workflow set up, but I am confused about how to reference an email within a workflow. I have a column set up for them to enter their email address, but how do I reference that?
