Appointment Scheduler Workapp

I have a requirement where I need customers to book appointments for us to send a technician to their site. We have multiple technicians available but still want to avoid double-booking in the case all technicians are booked on a given day.

I've seen similar questions posted before, but none with detailed answers and I am not in the position to approve a paid solution.

I'm thinking of a dashboard with an input form side by side with a sheet that shows available timeslots/technicians, with cross-sheet formulas that check for double-bookings, but am having trouble putting it together.

Any advice/support would be greatly appreciated!
