The situation: I have a simple checklist for my team. I want to set an automation to send a reminder to the assigned team member weekly after a listed due date if they haven't checked off a task by that due date. Currently, if I want the reminder to send at a time relative to the due date, I have to set the trigger to Run only once in order to set the Date field to the Due Date. Then I can't set the reminder to repeat. On the other side, if I use a custom recurrence, I have to set the recurrence to start on the current date, rather than the due date. Otherwise I'll have to set up 4 different automations to run on each of the weeks following the due date, which is rather clunky.
The suggestion: Either add a Date Field option to the custom recurrence so we can set it to start on days other than the current one, or add some more robust customization options to the default Trigger box in the automation workflow to mirror some of the options in the custom recurrence screen (which is not all that more complicated than the default options anyway).
