Populate Field Based on Checkbox Date
Is there a formula out there that would allow me to 'autopopulate' a field based on the date a 'checkbox' was checked.
IE --> I have a Check Box to determine if a Project has been completed or not(if checked, it is completed), is there a way to autopopulate the date that checkbox was 'checked'?
Thanks!

This is a popular question in the Smartsheet community and the answer is: Yes, but only with a third-party application. Zapier has been used by others to record the date an action took place. J. Craig Williams has great experience using Zapier to complete a similar task. And he's also written blog posts about it. http://ronin-global.com/2016/12/11/smartsheet-fixed-date-upon-completion/

I think that as long as there is no timestamp for single cells, you have only one way to do it. Use auto date (column "modified - date") and treat your checkbox as a final step for the project. This would be the easiest way imo. Otherwise you have to use 3rd party solution as Mike said.

Be aware that the system column for modified date will update whenever any modifications are made on the row. So if you go in and adjust something on the row, even a spelling error, the modified date will change. Which is a bugger and would throw off the accuracy of your data.

Sure Mike,
I assumed use of checkbox as a completely final step.
