Pasted text from OneNote to Smartsheet cell appears as an image?!

Hi,

When you paste text from OneNote into a cell in Smartsheet it appears as an image.  This is so annoying.  See attachment.

The only workaround is to paste the text into a web browser or word document, then copy/paste that back into Smartsheet cell.

This is affecting our use case somewhat, as often in project meetings our team take detailed notes in Onenote or transcribe via dictations meeting minutes.  From this they should just be able to quickly copy/paste this into Smartsheet for actions etc.

 

Anyone else having this problem and what have you tried?

Thanks for the reply, nope that doesn't work.  Both paste and paste special options are greyed out in SS.

I am also having the same problem. Any plain text that I copy from OneNote will ALWAYS be pasted as a photo into Smart Sheet. and there are no other paste options like paste as plain text, those options are grayed out.  I have no other issues with copy/paste to and from OneNote and any other aplication.

Any update on this issue? I live in OneNote so it's very frustrating to have to constantly copy info from OneNote into a word doc before I can past it into Smartsheet. Thanks!

Still happening. I have to copy it from OneNote then paste it into notepad and copy it again to paste into Smartsheet.

I am a huge OneNote user and I've found that if you click into the cell

and then right click "Paste as Plain Text" it will take it. Its clunky, but it works

This is probably the most surprising bug in SmartSheet. Copy/Paste works really well from every other app, and OneNote always plays nicely too. Is this something SmartSheet is looking into fixing?

Any update on this? This is HIGHLY annoying. Entirely too much clicking to double click into each cell individually just to paste. If I want to paste a lot of data into multiple rows, it cannot be done, it does the image as per the original poster of this thread.

Copying text from OneNote to Smartsheet is still pasting as an image. Is there a fix yet for this?

Copying and pasting works from OneNote to all other programs. Copying and pasting from other Office programs to Smartsheet works fine.

However, for some reason we still can't paste text from OneNote. It's a good thing we have the workaround (Clicking into the Smartsheet cell, then right-clicking>Paste as plain text), but it's a band-aid, not a solution.

Please work on this. A lot of us use OneNote in conjunction with Smartsheet and the workaround is slow.

2. Enable copy/paste of text from Microsoft OneNote
