Cell Linking Issue

Hi all,

I am new to this community but have read numerous feeds posted here and found them really useful.

I have now run into a problem of my own that requires some help.

I have created a form for our business to complete.

The completed lines (Cells) are then linked to another sheet for data collection. The problem here is that when the form is completed the data populates a line which is not linked to the next page meaning that my data is a complete mess and I have to manually fix.

Please advise what I can do to fix this.

Hi Richard,

Welcome to the Community and the wonderful world of Smartsheet!

Unfortunately, it's not possible to cell-link to a row that hasn't been created (for example from a form).

You'd have to use cross-sheet formulas for it to work and probably a VLOOKUP or an INDEX/MATCH combination.

Can you describe your process in more detail and maybe share the sheet(s) or some screenshots? (Delete/replace any confidential/sensitive information before sharing) That would make it easier to help. (share too, andree@getdone.se)
