Forms and Logic: Renaming drop down item removes logic at form
When you have a form associated with a sheet, and then rename a drop down item at one of the columns for which logic is associated to, you will see the logic disappears at the form. This is an expected result since an error message appears (see screenshot below). I request this not happen. To leave the ability to rename a particular drop down item without the logic associated to it falling off.
Community Corner Newsletter [February 2024]
Hi all, Max from the Community team here to kick off the month of February 2024. It has been a while since I posted our second ever Community Corner Newsletter back in May of 2023. We’ve come a long way since then and I can definitely attribute this to our amazing and growing Community Team.
I have the distinct pleasure of following in the footsteps of our lovely Community Engagement Manager, @Alison Clancy who published a phenomenal newsletter to kick off 2024 with a bang!
Let’s get into what has been happening in the Smartsheet Community... and remember to scroll down ⬇️ to the bottom to learn more about what has been going on in the life of Max.

Community Champions are members who demonstrate product expertise and generosity in sharing best practices and support with others on the platform.
“One of my favorite things about the Community is how people use formulas in new ways...Did you know you could do algebra with time stamps by stacking LEN and LEFT/RIGHT formulas? Formula stacking is insane and I absolutely love it. With Smartsheet, you can pull off things that are seemingly impossible in other platforms.”

Overachiever's Motivation Mix
The Smartsheet Overachievers are here to give you the songs that will keep you going and keep you achieving! Here’s what’s on the playlist right now.
"’Gangnam Style’ is my daily anthem for driving change because, much like PSY's dance, I believe in galloping towards innovation with style and flair. If he can make the whole world dance to his tune, surely I can get my office to groove to the rhythm of progress!”
- Jorge Pilicita (@Leonardo), Account Director at Dexterra for National Defense Canada

More about me
Before you venture off to explore more of our Community I’d like to share a little more about me and my favorite event from recent times.
A little about where I am geographically: I live 2 hours north of New York City in the beautiful Hudson Valley region (if you haven't been I highly recommend visiting).
For the past three years I was engaged to the love of my life and we finally tied the knot in September of 2023 on beautiful Vashon Island, Washington (same area of where we both met and grew up).
Not only am I FINALLY excited to be married to the most wonderful person in the world, I’m also thrilled to share every waking moment with my best friend forever while growing, learning, and tackling life's biggest challenges and triumphs ahead.
If you are wondering what we are doing for our honeymoon… look no further.
Throwing a bit of a curveball here:
We didn’t have a traditional honeymoon in the sense of right after the wedding came to a close we set off on a big trip, quite the opposite actually 👀. My Wife is in her last year of Graduate School at NYU so we had to make our way back home in time for the beginning of her Fall semester. The REAL honeymoon will take place this coming Spring in the city of love, Paris!

Searchable comments
I use the comments field to track interactions with clients, meeting notes, emails, etc. But when I want to go back and search for a keyword, or a certain message, it's a pain. I have to open each comment and search through by hand, sure would be nice if that would be searchable!

Graphing Non-Numeric values
I would love to be able to graph non-numeric values. We recently sent a survey to our staff where many answers were selected from a list of dropdown options. In order to clearly display the results I was looking to create pie charts showing the responses to individual questions and was unable to do so without creating a sheet summary counting all the values for each individual question.
Re: Introduce yourself & get to know your peers!
Hello, I am Joel Smith and I am our department's Smartsheet knowledge-base and Smartsheet Usergroup Leader at the largest Medical School in the United States. I am the Jack of All Trades (Jacobus Omnium Artium) in my Department but my official title is Curriculum Data Coordinator. I've created sheets/workflows/processes for just about every team in my department. One of my proudest achievements is contributing to our student newsletter by creating an "Editorial Calendar" out of Smartsheet for the Communications team as well collecting data from the submissions that we get for our newsletter.
My outside of work existence is that of "Band Dad". I have three kids in Marching Band this year. I am a member of the Band Booster Board as their Microsoft Systems Administrator. Unfortunately, as a Non-Profit, the board can't afford any Smartsheet licenses.
Re: Dark Mode for Desktop App
Yes please please! Everything dark mode always as far as I'm concerned :)
Re: Dark Mode for Desktop App
Dark mode for desktop and browser would be great. Love the desktop app, would be perfect with a dark mode feature.
Re: Dark Mode for Desktop App
3rd party Chrome Extension "Dark Reader" used to work to resolve this issue. However it stopped working recently. It disables us to refresh pages when Dark mode is on. 😫 So please have this capability for our users. thank you.

Access & Work Off-line within Smartsheet (Sheet level)
Enhancement Request: Access Smartsheet off-line and allow work to be saved for upload at a later time or once online access is available.
The most common use case is travel (i.e. airplane, passenger in automobile). However, there are scenarios where internet service is compromised (i.e. warehouse buildout, remote areas with bad service, temporary outages, etc.) where this applies.
Need to be able to update meeting minutes, take notes/brainstorm, update financials, update project tasks/schedules while not being connected.

Re: February Question of the Month - Join the conversation and receive a badge
There were so many things I wanted to do when I was a kid. Some of them I have done and found it wasn't for me. Other things I have done and found they are better for me as a hobby. And then yet other things were great for a time but I have since moved on from. Now I get to express my inner nerd and build Smartsheet solutions full time, my tree service keeps me moving, and my small engine repair keeps me tinkering.
